MISSION:
Ms. Riemer's mission is to provide education consistent with evidenced based practice, addressing proactive approaches to managing conflicts and challenging behaviors in order to minimize or eliminate risks of violence and trauma.
SERVICES:
1) Provide consultation & education in areas of primary, secondary, and tertiary strategies for reducing risk of violence and trauma through enhancement of:
1) Verbal and non-verbal communication skills (based on Compassionate
Communication developed by Marshall Rosenberg)
*Recognize and avoid blocks to respectful, healthy, & healing communication
2) Emotional Self Regulation Skills:
*Development of personal self care skills helpful in managing affects of stress and
truama in order to achieve coherence ( connection between mind, spirirt, and
body) and maintain connection with others
*Identifying challenging behaviors that could lead to conflicts /violence/trauma
*identifying patterns & triggers to the behaviors
*Providing proactive, early interventions to create sanctuary (A Safe Place)
(Based on the Sanctuary Model by Sandra Bloom)
3) Recovery Skills by promoting individuality, skill building, empowerment, hope
with a truama-informed and trauma-sensitive approach
